Tartalmi kivonat:Originality is a fundamental concept of copyright law of all nations. Its contours, however, differ from country to country. The current chapter first shortly introduces the international copyright law framework of this concept and clarifies how Hungary has relied on these international norms to conceptualize originality as a threshold of copyright protection for authors and, to a lesser degree, of related rights protection for performers. Second, it provides an in-depth analysis of the functioning of the concept in practice. For that purpose, the chapter covers in great depth the leading case law and expert opinions of the Hungarian Council of Copyright Experts on originality.
